Rockwater Park:  https://visitculpeperva.com/listing/rockwater-park.aspx A beautiful park just outside the town of Culpeper, Rockwater offers a frisbee golf course,  playground, walking trails, and a splash pad in the warm summer months.  

Montpelier:  Explore over 8 miles of trails surrounding James Madison’s home.  Open to the public when Montpelier is also open, check the website for exact days and times.https://www.montpelier.org/visit/trails  Orange County residents have free admission to the grounds.

Wilderness Battlefield Trails: https://www.nps.gov/frsp/planyourvisit/trails-brochures.htm With several to pick from, these trails near the intersection of route 20 and 3 let you choose how long you want to spend hiking during the day.
