Dining in Caroline County

There are numerous places to grab a bit around the county.  For breakfast, try out Common Grounds Coffee Shop to get that morning cup of joe along with a breakfast sandwich.  Enjoy a fresh blueberry muffin or other pastry at Blue Bar Bakery in Port Royal.  The Corner Store in Bowling Green offers a delicious selection of soups and sandwiches for lunch or enjoy BBQ at Square Fire BBQ in Ruther Glen.  For dinner, enjoy Giuseppe’s Italian Restaurant or explore other cuisines like Mexican or Chinese.  In addition to restaurants, Bowling Green sponsors a weekly farmer’s market.  There are numerous farms throughout the county that give residents access to fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat throughout the year.

Things to Do

There are several parks throughout the county with walking trails and pavilions.  The county has three golf courses.  You can spend time hunting for treasure at local antique stores or sample a glass of wine at a winery.  The Meadow Event Park hosts not only the Virginia State Fair but various other events throughout the year.  The Meadow Event Park has facilities for weddings, an equine and livestock complex, and outdoor space for events like concerts, or races.
