This area of Caroline county dates back the mid 1600’s and, due to its proximity to the navigable waters of the Rappahannock river, was a crucial export location for crop and other goods. No visit would be complete with a tour of the Port Royal Museum of American History located in the quaint downtown area. If you have been looking for a turn of the century classic colonial homes then this area needs to be on your list. There are many newer homes to be found here as well.
