What is coming into style this year in our kitchens?
Have you ever walked into a home and you can date it just by the kitchen? Whether it is an avocado green refrigerator, oak cabinetry with earth toned walls, or a gray island and white quartz countertop, every decade seems to have some trendy features that timestamp a kitchen. The National Kitchen and Bath Association completed a trend report of the anticipated kitchen trends in 2024. Will any of these things make it into your home?
Solid Surface Backsplashes
A slab of quartz behind your countertops is one of the more appealing kitchen trends in 2024 to consider. Easy to clean without having to scrub grout lines, this trend is one of the four trending kitchen backsplashes that we are likely to see in homes. It creates a seamless feel between countertops and the backsplash and can be come a focal point in the kitchen.
Wood Grain Cabinets
White cabinetry has reigned supreme for quite awhile, but it may have to take a backseat to the natural wood grain cabinets. Flat panels that echo mid-century modern design, help to create a minimalist feel while the wood grains bring neutral colors (another trend in 2024) and warmth into the kitchen.
Walk in Pantry
While having clean countertops is one of the kitchen trends in 2024, you still need somewhere to store your everyday appliances like a toaster or mixer. Cue, the rising interest in walk in pantries. A space to tuck away all the everyday necessities, people are looking for pantries that utilize all the possible storage space from floor to ceiling.
Range Hoods
No longer does the range hood have to be that piece of metal that hangs over your stove. One of the kitchen trends in 2024, creating a focal point in the kitchen with a customized range hood made of wood or stainless steel is seeing a rise in popularity.
Nature Indoors
Incorporating more nature, think colors and textures, into kitchens is a growing trend. Shades of green on walls, green herringbone tile for a backsplash, and natural wood cabinetry all bring the idea of the outdoors inside. Large windows that let in light and look out over trees and lush lawns also complement this trend.
In addition to these kitchen trends in 2024, there are some other features that are sticking around like stainless steel appliances. Although we saw some alternatives in the past few years, people still prefer stainless. Likewise, quartz for a countertop material continues to be a favorite. Are you up for embracing any of these kitchen trends in 2024? Let me know!
