Publix Grand Opening is December 12th!

October 2024 Update on new stores near Harrison Crossing

Located off of Route Three the new stores near Harrison Crossing are nearing completion. The Publix is set to open sometime late this year in December. The last time I drove through on the way to Fredericksburg, the Publix sign was up and the outside of the store appeared to be nearing completion.

In addition to Publix, there are other businesses to welcome to this new shopping complex. Panera Bread, Virginia Credit Union, Lee Nails, Habit Burger & Grill, BeMobile (an authorized Verizon retailer), and Heartland Dental are all planning on opening their doors to the public.

If you have driven on Route Three into Fredericksburg lately, I’m sure that you have noticed that there is a lot of construction going on near the Harrison Crossing area. There are several new stores near Harrison Crossing being built in this area. Construction on the newest Publix grocery store, at the corner of Route Three and Big Ben Boulevard has started. Announced last year, the Publix will be the anchor store occupying fifty thousand square feet of the new Chancellor Crossing. If you are a fan of the the popular grocery chain, which currently has a store in Cosner’s Corner, then you may be excited to get one closer to home. In addition to Publix, there are three additional buildings and two outparcels which will house smaller businesses.

On the other side of Route Three, a new Chipotle is opening. Perfect for residents of Locust Grove who don’t want to drive into Central Park for a meal from Chipotle, this restaurant is one business going into a small parcel at 5621 Plank Road. We just noticed it this weekend since the sign is up on the outside of the building. I’m curious to find out what else is going in next door to Chipotle.

Over the past few years many fast food restaurants and several medical care facilities have opened near Harrison Crossing. Are there any stores that you would like to see on Route Three or in Locust Grove? Let me know in the comments!
