Confession Time:  I don’t really like pumpkin flavored anything.  I’ll skip the pumpkin spiced flavored drink, pass on the pie, and won’t be roasting pumpkin seeds anytime in the near future.  However, if we don’t have a pumpkin to carve into a jack o’ lantern, the littlest Jones won’t be happy.  So, every fall, we head out to a pumpkin patch to enjoy some family time and pumpkin picking.  Here are some of our favorite places to pick pumpkins near Locust Grove.

Sarah’s Pumpkin Patch

Located off of Caves Ford Lane in southeastern Madison County, Sarah’s Pumpkin Patch has a variety of pumpkins ripe for the picking. You can pick a couple or go for an entire wheelbarrow full!  The variety of pumpkins in shades of green, orange, and white along with various heights and widths are great to add to a front porch for the duration of autumn. Sarah’s Pumpkin Patch also has a corn maze.

Miller Farms Market

Head on over to Miller Farms where a hayride to the plentiful pumpkin patch will leave you with many options.  Afterwards you can explore their farm store or let the kids play in the large sand pile.  Miller Farms also has a large corn maze to explore.

Belvedere Farms

You can spend an entire day exploring all the attractions at Belvedere Farms.  Check out their website for ticket purchasing options  and to see all the fall fun they have to offer.  In addition to the pumpkin patch, there are lots of games for little ones to get out all their energy!

Round Hill Farm

Located in Culpeper just north of Unionville, Round Hill Farm has a lot of fall activities.  After paying the admission fee, you can grab a hayride to the pumpkin patch in order to select your perfect pumpkin.  There is also a zip line, slide, hay maze, train rides, moon bounce, and corn maze to explore!
