The fact that I am even thinking about New Year’s Eve is crazy!  I feel like it should still be July, but instead we are getting ready to welcome the New Year.  Here are some of the Jones’ favorite New Year’s Eve appetizers!  Happy New Year!

Pretzel Bites

These tasty homemade pretzels from Once Upon a Chef can be easier to prep on New Year’s Eve by making the dough ahead of time.  They taste best right out of the oven, but you could make them ahead of time and reheat them in the oven. For a sweet twist, we dust with cinnamon and sugar.

Slow Cooker Barbecue Meatballs

A party pleaser that is simple and low maintenance, this New Year’s Eve appetizer can feed a crowd

All you need is a bag of frozen meatballs, a bottle of your favorite barbeque sauce, and a small onion.  Dice the onion. Place into the slow cooker with barbeque sauce and meatballs (Pro tip: Spray the sides of the slow cooker with cooking spray to help keep the barbeque sauce from sticking to the sides and burning).  Cook on high for two and a half hours or low for four.  Serve by themselves or on slider buns.

French Bread Pizza

Grab a couple of loaves of French bread from the store along with your favorite jar of pizza sauce and toppings.   Slice the bread in half and add sauce, toppings, and cheese.  Bake in a 400 degree oven until browned.  Here is a great basic recipe from Cooking Classy.

You can also take the work away from you by setting up a pizza bar and having your guests customize their pizzas to their specific likings. Slice the bread into smaller portions and use a toaster oven to cook.

Turkey Pinwheels

Easy to customize, this lighter option may be what you are looking for after all the holiday food.  Take a large tortilla and spread with mayo or your favorite dressing.  Add slices of deli turkey and cheese along with lettuce and tomato.  (You can also include bacon, stone ground mustard, cream cheese; the options are endless.)  Roll the tortilla and cut into bite sized pieces secured with toothpicks.

Baked Brie

This showstopper looks complicated, but it is really easy.  The Mediterranean Dish’s take on baked brie will be the star of any charcuterie board.

Garlic Knots

Save some time and energy by picking up a bag of frozen knots from the store.  Before putting them in the oven to bake, melt some butter in a small bowl and add fresh crushed garlic and parsley.  Brush over top of knots and bake.  Serve with warm marinara sauce.

Mercantile Snack Mix

Sweet or salty?  The Pioneer Woman’s snack mix will hit both notes.  This New Year’s Eve appetizer is a favorite among kids of all ages and can be made ahead of time. If made a few days ahead of time, pop this snack mix into the freezer to keep it fresh.

Lemon Angel Cake Roll

A light and refreshing desert can be an appetizer too, right?  This recipe from A Taste of Home  is a great New Year’s Eve appetizer as you can make it the day ahead of time.
