What is a septic inspection?
Septic inspections are part of the home selling process just like pest, water quality and home inspections. A septic inspection is completed when your home has a septic system. They are done by professions who look at the condition of the system and identify any potential problems that may occur. Depending on the county you live in, the septic system may also need pumped.
Why do I need a septic inspection
Some sellers wonder why they need one if they have been living in the home and maintaining the septic system. It usually comes down to financing the property. Many buyers’ lenders will require that an inspection is completed before they will finance the purchase.
There are different types of inspections that can be done. Talking with your Realtor® can help you decide which on best fits the needs of the property you are purchasing.
