You’ve worked really hard to get your home in shape.  Decluttering and deep cleaning every room.  You’ve organized, donated, and trained everyone to keep their personal spaces neat at all times.  Then it happens.  After a long day of work and children’s activities you get a request for a last minute showing.  While you don’t want to turn down a potential offer, you also just had everyone  shower in the bathroom you haven’t touched since yesterday.  Don’t worry!  I’ve got some cheats for quickly staging a bathroom that will help you get out of the door on time.

While you are tackling the bathroom, use these tips to have everyone else tackle the rest of the home.

Grab a laundry basket

Take a laundry basket into the bathroom and place everything that is on the counter inside.  Since you still want your bathroom vanity and any storage shelves you’ve got in your Locust Grove home to appear neat, shoving everything into these spaces really isn’t an option.  Just stash it in the basket to deal with later. You can toss the basket in the trunk of your car or set it in the laundry room.

Wipe it down

If your children once again “forgot” to turn on the exhaust fan and have left the bathroom a humid tropical rainforest, turn on the fan while you work.  Grab a towel and quickly wipe down the bathroom vanity.  Don’t forget to get any toothpaste out of the sink. If the shower is wet, use the towel to dry the inside of the shower and glass doors.  Close the doors or shower curtain.  Gather up any towels in the bathroom and toss them in the washing machine.

Take a peek at the bathroom mirror and give it a quick clean if dirty.

Put out the fancy towels

Did anyone else have hand towels in their home while they were growing up that were for display purposes only?  I don’t understand it, but it works when you’ve got a showing scheduled for your Locust Grove home.  While this takes a little preparation ahead of time, it saves you from scrubbing off the caked on soap from the dispenser three minutes before you need to leave.  Purchase a new hand towel and soap dispenser that is for display only.  Tuck these items somewhere convenient after you have explained to the rest of family members in your home the purpose of them.  Then, since you’ve already cleared off your bathroom vanity, place the soap dispenser by the sink and take the nice fresh hand towel and fold it neatly on the towel bar.

Hide and sweep

Either empty the trash can or tuck it under the bathroom cabinet.  Give the floor a quick sweep.  Use a paper towel to wipe down the toilet and close the lid.  Quick tip:  Having some bathroom cleaner stashed in the bathroom vanity with a roll of paper towels or a rag is a great way to make cleaning the bathroom go faster since you don’t have to go to another room to get the stuff.

If you have any windows in the bathroom, go ahead and open the blinds or curtains to let some natural light into the space. Remember to turn off the fan.

While it may not be deep cleaned, these cheats will have the bathroom in your Locust Grove home appearing this way quickly.
