While many enjoy the thrills and chills of an awesome haunted house experience, here at the Jones’ household we keep things a little tamer.  We have a family member who is awesome at self regulating herself when it comes to perceived scary things, so a trip to a pumpkin patch is all we need to get us in the autumn mood. If you add a corn maze, farm store, and some cool crisp air, then you have the perfect recipe for an enjoyable autumn afternoon.

Here are some places with a pumpkin patch near Locust Grove to visit if you are looking for a pumpkin to carve into a jack o lantern or just to decorate your front porch.

Sarah’s Pumpkin Patch

Located off of Caves Ford Lane in southeastern Madison County, Sarah’s Pumpkin Patch has a variety of pumpkins ripe for the picking. You can pick a couple or go for an entire wheelbarrow full!  The variety of pumpkins in shades of green, orange, and white along with various heights and widths are great to add to a front porch for the duration of autumn. Sarah’s Pumpkin Patch also has a corn maze.

Miller Farms Market

Head on over to Miller Farms where a hayride to the plentiful pumpkin patch will leave you with many options.  Afterwards you can explore their farm store or let the kids play in the large sand pile.  Miller Farms also has a large corn maze to explore.

Belvedere Farms

You can spend an entire day exploring all the attractions at Belvedere Farms.  Check out their website for ticket purchasing options  and to see all the fall fun they have to offer.  In addition to the pumpkin patch, there are lots of games for little ones to get out all their energy!

Round Hill Farm

Located in Orange just north of Unionville, Round Hill Farm has a lot of fall activities.  After paying the admission fee, you can grab a hayride to the pumpkin patch in order to select your perfect pumpkin.  There is also a zip line, slide, hay maze, train rides, moon bounce, and corn maze to explore!
