Lake of the Woods is a community located in Orange County, VA just off of Route 3 about halfway between Culpeper and Fredericksburg. From colonials to ranches to split level homes, Lake of the Woods has a robust offering of amenities for residents who call Lake of the Woods home.

Here is a list of some of the main amenities that Lake of the Woods offer. Some amenities have an additional cost that is not included in the yearly HOA fee.

  • Two Swimming Pools: Located by the Clubhouse and Sweetbrier Park, the pools are main attractions in the summer. The pool at Sweetbrier has a separate children’s area with water features and a slide. The main pool features a ramp entrance along with slide and diving board. The Clubhouse pool has a zero entry option along with separate lap lanes. A snack bar and showers make the pool a great place to spend the day. Both pools are next to park areas that offer places to have a picnic lunch.
  • The Clubhouse: The Clubhouse at Lake of the Woods houses two dining options, the Grill Room for a more relax dining experience or the Club Room for a more formal dining experience, that are two awesome places to grab a dinner. The seasonal outdoor deck is a great place to take in views of the lake. The Clubhouse can be rented for special events too
  • Community Center: The Community Center is where HOA meetings are held as well as other committee meetings. Exercise classes and sports meet here.
  • Equestrian Center: Ever dream of riding a horse? You can take a lesson at the equestrian center, attend children’s day camps, or take a trail ride.
  • Golf Course: After playing a round of golf at Lake of the Woods, relax at Fareways Cafe.
  • Fitness Center: Newly remodeled, the Fitness Center offers aerobic exercise space and weight rooms with a view of the water.
  • Beaches: With a name like Lake of the Woods, of course you have to have beaches. The main lake boasts eight beaches with sand and picnic tables. Keaton’s Lake has one.
  • Lakes and Marianas: What would Lake of the Woods be without a lake? The main lake offers all of the watersport activities such as sailing, boating, water skiing, fishing, swimming, and canoeing. There are two marinas on the main lake. Boat slips are available for a rental fee, but there typically is a waiting list. Keaton’s Lake is the smaller lake. Here you can swim, fish, canoe, or use an electric powered watercraft. There is one boat launch area.
  • Parks: Sprinkled throughout Lake of the Woods are parks with walking trails, playgrounds, and pavilions. Some parks also offer tennis and basketball courts, a baseball field, and restrooms.
