Yes Virginia! You can sell your home in Locust Grove (or elsewhere) during the holidays.
There’s no place like home for the holidays right? Except for when you need to sell your home over the holidays. Many people think that the real estate market comes to a halt in November when the holiday season is quickly approaching, but this is not quite true. There are many people who have to sell or buy a home no matter the time of year because of their job transfers or changes within their families. They are motivated, serious buyers looking for a home and with less inventory on the market your home might just be the one for them. These buyers are the ones we are reaching out to sell your home over the holidays.
Selling your home over the holidays can seem overwhelming. Talking with your Realtor® and discussing a game plan for when and how you want showings to happen can help to alleviate some stress. Here are some other helpful tips:
- Get photographs before you decorate. Have your Realtor® schedule photographs before your decorate your home. These pictures will look fresh all winter long.
- Work on your curb appeal. This time of year, more buyers may visit your home early evening or in the dark. While the grass is no longer green, make sure to have cleaned up the flower beds of leaves and pick up any other yard debris. Add some twinkling lights or candles in the windows to create an inviting atmosphere from outside.
- Decorate but with restraint. A home decorated for the holidays is warm and inviting. Just make sure not to go overboard and hide the features of your home that you want buyers to notice. For example, don’t hide the gorgeous picture window in your living room with the Christmas tree. Maybe put the tree in the corner where buyers can appreciate it and the window.
- Price it properly. Having your home priced accurately will attract the serious buyers who want to find a home. How do your price a home accurately?
