Gone are the days when libraries were just associated with paperback and hardcover books, magazines, and large stacks of encyclopedias.  Did you know that today you can have access to streaming services, telescopes, ebooks, hotspots, and more though our Wilderness branch of the Orange County Library?

Wilderness Library, located near the intersection of Flat Run and 20, is a fantastic resource for all Orange county residents. Other than a vast collection of fiction and non-fiction books, Wilderness library offers other materials to borrow. With their newly launched app, you can easily access tens of thousands of ebooks, tv shows, and movies from Libby, Hoopla, Freading, Kanopy, and more. Best of all, its all free with your library card.

They offer a story time program for toddlers and preschoolers on Tuesdays at 10:15 (toddlers) and 11:00 (preschoolers) a.m. Hopefully, soon more of their in person events and activities impacted by the pandemic will return. A summer reading program encourages children to keep reading over the summer to maintain their reading skills learned during the school year.

Wilderness Library is a short drive from homes in Wilderness Shores, Somerset, or Lake of the Woods. If you just moved to Locust Grove or have been a happy homeowner or renter for years, make sure to stop by the library, get a card, and see all that it has to offer.
