These homes range in square footage from approximately 1,200 to 2,000 square feet. The homes in Wilderness Shores constructed by Tricord in the early 2000’s are spacious two story colonials with high ceilings, multiple bathrooms, and basements.  These homes have a family room open to the kitchen. One notable feature in these homes are the large primary bedrooms with spacious bathrooms and walk in closets. Many homes in Wilderness Shores have finished basements for additional space while others remain unfinished spaces used as storage or a work out area. 

There are also single level living homes in Wilderness Shores with a loft space and some split level houses.  Other homes, with construction completed in the past few years, have craftsman elements on the exterior of the house with open floor plans in the interior.  These homes in Wilderness Shores range from three to five bedrooms and have two or more bathrooms.  There are also smaller ranch homes in Wilderness Shores if you don’t need as much space or prefer one level living.  The neighborhood also has townhouses. As of this blog, many of the townhomes are still being built. These townhouses can have about the same space as a ranch home; instead of finding the space horizontally, the square footage is built vertically.

Close to Daily Shopping

The homes in Wilderness Shores are less than a five minute drive from the Walmart in Locust Grove.  A smaller store that is less busy than the ones in Fredericksburg or Culpeper, it is the perfect place to pick up everyday essentials.  A short drive down route three will bring the residents of homes in Wilderness Shores to Food Lion and CVS. There are nearby urgent care centers and doctors, dental offices, veterinarians, and auto repair shops. When you don’t feel like cooking dinner at home, Locust Grove has several restaurants to dine at including Bella Cucina, Clearwater Grill, Guacamole’s, Mama’s Pizza, and more.

Seasonal Pool and Amenities

The homes in Wilderness Shores have access to a seasonal community swimming pool and baby wading pool that is open to residents from late May through August.  There are also two playgrounds for little ones and a clubhouse that can be rented for parties or functions.  The homes in Wilderness Shore also get to enjoy a nature trail that starts in the community and leads to the Rapidan River where you could fish or just enjoy nature.
