Summer is in full swing here in central Virginia! Looking for something to do? Check out these events below for to find something for everyone!

July 2:  Lake of the Woods Independence Day Celebration: Parade at 10 a.m., Point activities during the day, and fireworks beginning at dark.  Not a resident?  You can usually still enjoy the beautiful fireworks from the parking lot at Food Lion. 

July 4th:  Fourth in Fredericksburg Arts and Crafts Show  Take a walk through Sophia Street from 10-4 in downtown Fredericksburg and check out the booths from local artists.

July 4th: Fabulous Fourth at Ferry Farm:  Celebrate our nation’s birthday at the boyhood home of George Washington.  Enjoy food, colonial games and history, and more from 10-4 p.m.

July 4th:  Culpeper Freedom Car and Bike Show.  Happening on Davis street, go check out this awesome collection of cars and bikes.  Head on over to Yowell Meadow Park for children’s kayaking, stroll through vendor booths and enjoy some musical performances starting at 10 a.m.

July 9: Bourbon, Bluegrass, and Barbeque at Belmont Farm Distillery in Culpeper, VA.  Enjoy free tours of the distillery, try out free samples of bourbon, enjoy the live bluegrass music, and taste some delicious barbeque.

July 12:  My Three Chambered Hearts: Reptiles.   Go to the Locust Grove Middle School to see a free program about reptiles AT 3 p.m.  This event is part of the Orange County Library’s summer reading program.

July 19: Awesome Possumz at the Locust Grove Middle School.  Part of the summer reading program sponsored by the Orange County Library, this free event for local children and their caretakers starts at 3 p.m. in the gym.

July 21: Culpeper’s 3rd Thursday Concert series at the Train Depot continues with the Unsuitables.  Tickets are $10 for adults and kids are free and the concert starts at 5 p.m.  Bring some food or try out something new at one of the food trucks. Grab your tickets ahead of time online or at Pepperberries, the museum of Culpeper History, or at Oak View National Bank.

July 26:  Traveling Lantern Theater presents a fish filled program as children travel to the bottom of the sea.  Sponsored by Orange County Library, this free event starts at 3 p.m. at Locust Grove Middle School.
